jennifer-murray-bwPorch Light Consulting was founded in 2006 by Jennifer Murray.  With over 20 years of direct experience within the cultural industries, Jennifer recognized an opportunity to create a unique company tailored specifically to the needs of individuals, groups and companies who represent and service the cultural sector.  The company provides marketing, strategic planning, research, and conference services to the cultural industries.  Services include developing marketing plans and branding strategies; developing press materials and publicity campaigns; developing and executing advertising plans and promotional campaigns; and planning events and programs.  She is a faculty member of the Humber College Creative Book Publishing Program and is a Board member for Word on the Street Toronto.

Porch Light Consulting’s clients include the Canada Council for the Arts, 2015 Toronto Pan Am Parapan Am Games, the Writers’ Union of Canada, Ontario Book Publishers Organization, National Reading Campaign, the Ontario Media Development Corporation (short-term marketing consulting to numerous small presses), Cultural Human Resources Council, Humber College, the City of Toronto (Doors Open Toronto), CARFAC Ontario (The Professional Association of Visual and Media Artists), Alameda Theatre Company, Toronto Writers’ Centre, Kegedonce Press, Public Energy (Peterborough New Dance), Inroads: The Canadian Journal of Opinion, the Ontario Music Centre (CAMMAC), and ABC Canada Literacy Foundation.

Before creating Porch Light Consulting Jennifer was Vice President of Marketing at Kids Can Press and Director of Marketing at Penguin Group (Canada).  Prior to that she held senior marketing and communications positions at the Ontario Science Centre, and worked as Publicity and Promotion Manager at James Lorimer & Company, Publishers, and Project Coordinator at Merritt Publishing.  Jennifer is a member of Arts Consultants Canada.
